Helium Arts in partnership with the Central Remedial Clinic Pre-School is welcoming families to experience a multi-sensory picnic adventure for young children with additional needs on Saturday 23 June in CRC as part of Dublin City Council’s Cruinniú na nÓg.
If you go down to the woods today you are in for a big surprise! Artist Orla Kelly and musician Jonathan Wilson will engage pre-schoolers, their siblings, and their parents in a feast for the senses. The event will use sensory art and installational play techniques inspired by Helium Arts’ Pop Up Picnic, an immersive and multi-sensory performance project for young children with complex needs. Families will have the opportunity to relax, be inspired, and play together.
Pre-event, the artist team will visit the pre-schoolers to personalise the picnic for each child and to respond to the educational techniques of the teacher and other CRC staff.
This picnic adventure brings the benefit of arts and culture through play to children in a care setting, who may otherwise miss out on the Dublin City Council’s Cruinniú na nÓg day of fun!
