Call for Volunteers! Teddy Bear Check Up

Helium Arts is looking for volunteers to take part in the Teddy Bear Check Up at Lloyd’s Pharmacy on 28 & 29 April.

About the Event

The Helium Arts’ Teddy Bear Check Up puts the child at the centre of a Doctor-Patient imaginative role play, as the minder of their Teddy to absorb self-care skills, first-aid, and to better understand basic medical procedures they might experience at the GP or hospital. Children become less fearful, more positive and Mum is happy knowing that the next trip to the doctor or nurse could be more relaxing.

Children will be invited to have their Teddies’ vital signs checked and student doctors from UCD Paediatric Society will be on call to treat any minor bear ailments.

Get a lift in the Teddy ambulance, create your own Teddy medical record, examine your Ted, and receive a prescription surprise.  Friendly medical students will be available to offer their expertise and real instruments for some imaginative doctor-play guided by the child.

The Helium Arts’ Teddy Bear Check Up is produced in association with UCD Medical Society at LloydsPharmacies.
